It is a historic day for New York State with Governor Hochul’s announcement on the completion of the South Fork Wind project, the first utility scale offshore wind farm in the United States. The 12 offshore wind turbines are expected to generate 130-megawatts of renewable energy to an estimated 70,000 homes. This is a significant milestone for New York State toward achieving the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act and renewable energy goals. See the full press release here.
Len Singer played a critical role as legal counsel on this project since its inception through obtaining the required permits, negotiating settlement agreements, defending challenges against opposition, obtaining dismissal of appeals, and providing general counsel. He shared, “I am proud to be a part of the esteemed team engaged in making the South Fork Wind project a reality. I look forward to working with my colleagues at Couch White in advancing similar projects that contribute toward New York’s clean energy journey.”
