Amanda De Vito Trinsey is a legal force navigating New York’s energy policy and regulatory agencies. She is dedicated to protecting and advancing the interests of energy consumers—large and small—across the state. From residential and low-income consumers in New York City to large commercial and industrial consumers upstate, her efforts have saved consumers billions of dollars in energy costs. Her work has resulted in improvements to utility service, enhancements to public safety and utility system reliability, resolutions of billing disputes with the utilities, societal benefits like air quality and public health improvements for all New Yorkers and expanded support for low-income customers. For nearly 15 years, she has advocated on behalf of consumers in matters before federal and state energy regulators to ensure consumers’ interests are given paramount consideration.
Amanda was recently appointed as General Counsel to the New York State Reliability Council, where she plays an integral role in ensuring electric reliability for consumers as New York transitions to a clean electric grid.
Amanda is a changemaker at Couch White. As a Partner and Co-Chair of the Energy Practice group, she is directly involved in shaping the future of the firm by continuously dedicating time to mentoring the next generation of attorneys. She champions organizations that support and advance women in the energy sector through her involvement and leadership roles in the Women’s Energy Network and Women in Communication and Energy.
