Our latest installment during October’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month is on New York’s Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act, enacted in 2020. As our prior two installments detailed the various methods to prevent a system breach from a cybersecurity attack (multi-factor authentication, long password, anti-phishing training programs), we now turn to a requirement under New York law related to data security compliance.
