This week, Couch White held a webinar for clients addressing the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (“CLCPA”) and the profound impact it has on the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s (“DEC”) permitting process.
Partner and Chair of Couch White’s Environmental Practice Group, Alita Giuda, shared insights on how the CLCPA will impact the operations of large end energy users and consumers. More specifically, Alita discussed key components of the Final Scoping Plan impacting businesses and the DEC’s greenhouse gas analysis, which will be required for new, modified, and renewal air permits, and a growing subset of other DEC permits. Finally, the webinar addressed how DEC’s permitting analysis will be conducted when Disadvantaged Communities are involved.
Couch White attorneys are experts in energy and environmental law and are actively assisting clients with these issues and closely monitoring future developments, keeping our clients top of mind. For more information, contact Alita Giuda or Mike Mager.
